車田正美先生が語る、特別インタビュー独占公開 マンガ家の仕事から「聖闘士星矢」イラストまで
2014年に画道40周年を迎えたマンガ家・車田正美さんは、いまや日本だけでなく世界を代表するマンガ家の一人と言っていいだろう。『リングにかけろ』『風魔の小次郎』『ビートエックス』など、子どもだけでなく大人もワクワクさせた数多くのヒット作を世に放ってきた。
なかでも1985年に連載開始した『聖闘士星矢』は、マンガ史に名を残す傑作として燦然と輝く。1986年にはテレビアニメ化もされるなど、その人気は日本からアジア、ヨーロッパ、アメリカと全世界に広がる。世界で人気の日本のアニメ・マンガとよく言われるが、『聖闘士星矢』こそがそれである。
その車田正美さんの肉声を伝えるインタビュー映像をアニメ！アニメ！では独占紹介する。このインタビュー映像は、今年6月に東京・渋谷パルコにて開催された「熱血画道40周年記念 車田正美原画展」で上映されたものだ。
展覧会は40年にわたる車田正美さんの画道の数々の貴重な原画や関連アイテムを紹介したものだ。そのなかで車田正美さんの肉声が聴ける。
しかし、この映像は展覧会後公開されておらず、貴重なものとなっている。展覧会には数多くの人が足を運んだが、残念ながら行くことが出来なかったファンも多いはずだ。そこでアニメ！アニメ！では、この映像を特別に紹介する。
映像の中では仕事をはじめた頃の話や信条を聴き、仕事場の様子なども披露する。とりわけ「おもしろくないモノはおもしろくない！」「ターゲットは読者」といった車田さんの力強い言葉が印象的だ。
さらに動画の後半部分は、車田正美さんのイラストギャラリーになっている。過去40年間、マンガ雑誌の誌面などを飾りファンを歓喜させてきた、『聖闘士星矢』をはじめとする数々のキャラクターたちが次々に現れる。ファン必見だ。
